Southall is a town in the London region of Ealing, West London. Sometimes referred to as "Little India", Southall is occupied by a large Asian community and filled with exotic sights, scents and sounds. It's located on the outer edge of west London between Hanwell and Hayes, giving easy access to Heathrow Airport. Southall is a residential area, although it offers a memorable shopping experience. Southall is located on the historic Grand Union Canal which first linked London with the rest of the growing canal system. In the evening, Southall is just the place to come for a good curry. The area is also renowned for its regular street festivals, bringing together locals of every nationality and culture. The Glassy Junction pub specialises in Indian lagers, and sweet and salted lassi, serves up mouth-watering food, and accepts payment in rupees. Nature-lovers, meanwhile, will enjoy a trip to Hanwell's Brent River Park with its delightful gardens, woodlands and meadows, zoo and golf course.
